“I regret taking such good care of my skin.”
– Said No One Ever.
Facial massage is key to skin rejuvenation. Just like the rest of our body, our facial muscles require a bit of a workout to keep our skin supple and plump.
Collagen and Elastin are fibers that help support the structure of the skin. Collagen gives strength and elastin enables skin’s flexibility and elasticity. After the age of 20, we produce approximately 1% less collagen in the skin each year, resulting in our skin becoming thinner and fragile. Elastin production declines as well and skin starts looking dull and dry.
Although ageing is a natural process, we can incorporate a healthy skin care routine to minimize the effects, especially due to extrinsic ageing factors such as damage due to exposure from synthetic chemicals, toxins, pollution, UV rays etc.
Start by switching your skincare to all-natural products, if you cannot eat it, do not put it on your skin!
Incorporate regular face massage into your skincare routine, for that natural lift and healthy, even-toned skin. Self-massaging daily can help:
- Relive stress, anxiety and muscle tension.
- Boost Circulation
- promote better absorption of all-natural skincare products more easily into the skin
- Stimulate the facial muscles for better blood flow resulting in a youthful contour to the face
- Release endorphins, the “feel good” hormones
- Treat skin dryness resulting in a healthy glow
- Increase the skin's vital energy
- Overall well-being
Face Massage As part of your daily skincare routine, add a 5-10 minute face massage to cleanse and moisturize your skin every day. Start by cleansing/exfoliating your skin with our ritual trio to remove dead skin cells. Follow by our cleansing oil (massage and remove using warm water on a cotton pad or cloth) and beauty serum or ultra-hydrating face & body balm depending on your skin's needs.
Start at the neck and use gentle yet firm upward motion strokes. Repeat 3-5 times.
Next, massage from the center of your chin outwards to your ears in an upward motion using your fingers and thumbs. Repeat 3-5 times.
Moving to the corners of your mouth, continue with upward motion outwards to your ears. Repeat 3-5 times. Similarly, move to corners of your nostrils and massage in an upward motion, applying gentle pressure on your cheekbones. Repeat 3-5 times.
Next, massage your eye area using your index fingers in a circular motion moving outwards. Start at the inside of your eyebrows and move towards the outer corners.
Moving upwards, use your index and middle finger to massage sideways across your forehead starting between your eyebrows (third eye point) and moving outwards to your temples. Repeat 3-5 times.
Conclude the routine by massaging your entire face in circular motions for 15-30 seconds using your fingertips. Take this time to relax and feel the benefits of all-natural skincare food for your skin!
Make healthy food and lifestyle choices. Drink plenty of water to ensure your skin stays hydrated. Minimise the intake of processed foods and sugar and focus on fresh produce.
Meditate daily to help relax your body and mind. It will benefit your skin as well!
